Sunflowers are heliotropic, and the old English name was "turnsole".
The name "heliotrope" derives from the fact that these plants turn their leaves/flowers to the sun. Helios is Greek for "sun", tropein means "to turn". A person is 'articulate' if they can join up words, i.e fluent. 'articulated' means having joints. Last edited by AngelicaDeAlquezar; November 25, 2009 at 11:29 AM.
