Abrirse en canal

¿Cuando una persona se abre en canal que hacen?

Creo que significa trabaja extemamente duro, pero no estoy seguro.

Conozco la expresión "abrir en canal", para hablar de matar a un animal y sacarle las entrañas; significa cortarlo de arriba a abajo (como una res para comérsela o una paloma para propósitos de adivinación).

¿Puedes dar algún contexto?

I think in the article it was used figuratively to mean bust one's chops.
"Angel se ha abierto en canal en los ensayos"

I think it may be the speaker's unique use of the term.

"Ángel hizo su mayor esfuerzo".

No es un uso único del que habla.
Al abrir un animal en canal, sus vísceras quedan expuestas. En sentido figurado, abrirse a sí mismo en canal, es exponer lo que uno lleva dentro; en el caso del bailarín, expone sus sentimientos más íntimos al respecto de la pieza, para expresarse y comunicarlo a su público.

Nunca lo había oído en ese sentido, pero imagino que se sinceran completa y exageradamente, "desnudándose" ante alguien. Yo no lo haría porque implica un derramamiento de vísceras, ya que "abrir en canal", como dijo Angélica, es por ejemplo tomar una res colgada de un gancho y abrirle el esternón y el vientre para echar fuera todos los órganos.

Yo creo que aquí se refiere a "mostrar sentimientos profundos/intensos/desgarradores" en una interpretación.
"Angel nos ha mostrado sus mas profundos sentimientos durante los ensayos"

I think that's a possibility. In English sometimes the term spill your guts is used.
