Usually.........
Voy a pasar por alto tu comportamiento rudo esta vez pero no más! I will overlook your rude behavior this time but no more! In my book, this is the only use for "pasar por alto".

I passed over New York City while flying to Italy. I couldn't see it because we were too high.
Pasé de alto la Ciudad de Nueva York mientras volaba (al volar) a Italia. No pude verla por la altitud. No, I don't think this is grammatical. Would be pasamos muy por encima de Nueva York.... Examples with pasar de alto Para ese trabajo de azafata piden ser de alta entre 1'70 y 1'85. Mi hija, con casi dos metros, se pasa de alta. No puedes pasar con ese camion por el puente, se pasa de alto (de altura). Puente: 2'75, camion:3.25. Think of pasar de alto as always supported by a pronoun: Pasarse de alto (Yo me paso de alto para un coche tan pequeño) Similarly with other adjectives: Pasarse de listo (No te pases de listo) Last edited by Planet hopper; January 29, 2009 at 09:27 PM. |
