ya means already. What does vuelven del tajo mean? does vuelven mean returning? returning from what? What does tajo mean?

The word tajo is used for the spot (line) where the pickers would be picking up. It means cut, because the manager would draw a sharp line, a cut, in a landscape that is all the same, just trees lined up. That line is the limit: on the right, trees already picked, on the left, trees to pick. The pickers go along the line twice or three times a day. Tomorrow the line (el tajo) would start somewhere else, depending on the manager (el manijero). With the sunset, the pickers return from the tree line of that day (tajo).
