Terminó en agua de borrajas

Como se dice en inglés " terminar en agua de borrajas"

water over the dam/under the bridge is con aguas pasadas no mueve el molino I think, can anybody confirm please?

They are slighly different. Examples of water under the bridge/up in smoke.(never water over the dam): They had a fight but that's water under the bridge. Now they're best friends.

His plan to travel went up in smoke now that he has lost his job.

Aguas pasades no mueve el molino is close to but not identical to : no ticket no laundry
