Good Morning Everyone.......
If I want to say...
The doctor will inform you as to how long the surgery is expected to take.
To take ..
El doctor/cirujano le informará cuánto tiempo _________________ su cirujía.
I don't feel comfortable using demorará because nothing is being delayed but can't find another word that works.
Your help please....

"durará" es la palabra. :)
También pudieras usar "tomará".

I would use Tardara la cirugia.
How long will take the surgery?

I think Chileno's choices are the most immediate ("durará" sounds much better to me).
"Tardará" is a bit more colloquial and maybe only understood in Mexico.
"El médico/doctor/cirujano le informará cuánto tiempo durará/tomará la/su cirugía."
