El nuevo asunto es el uso de "decidirse " en la siguiente frase.Me parece poco rara.
'La historia de un capitán que refiere,...cómo se hundió su barco.....sin que él se decidiera a compartir su suerte.."
Cómo podría que se decidiera ?:worried:

Gracias Perikles , pero con las definiciones que las encontré también la frase no tiene sentido.No?

Creo que sí: the story of the captain who relates .... how his ship sank... without his having decided to join its fate. :thinking:
(It is 'normal' for the captain to stay on his ship when it sinks)

@Katerina: "Decidirse" is exactly what Perikles has said. The captain feels guilty that he did make a decision not to join the fate of his ship and escaped. That's why he tells the story over and over...

Yes it's exactly correct in the phrase because he didn't quite agree if he shares or not his story.
He ain't very sure about his decision.
I don't know maybe he wanted to keep himself the story for he solely.
