    By the way, "I have gone through (... courses)" is proper English.

    The Spanish equivalent is "He cursado" (I have taken (... courses)). This is the present perfect tense. It's a compound tense. The first word is the singular first-person form of 'haber' (a helping verb much like 'have'). The second word is the past participle of 'cursar' (to take a course).

    Another way to write "I have gone through several courses" is "I have taken several courses." In the revised version, which includes the verb that is a literal translation of the Spanish verb 'cursar', it is easier to see how the helping verb 'have' and the past participle 'taken' match 'he cursado'.
