It's funny to hear idioms, altough I can't really understand how it's supposed to be translated.

The whole phrase is like an adverb meaning "the donkey in front opening the way, so that it isn't unease and it doesn't get stampeded"; more explanation than translation, it is intended to explain that the saying's aim is pointing to anxiety and self-referential behaviour.

I get it now, and it makes it even more hilarious :)

When you are back, take a look to this video I came across this morning while doing some research about towns and villages in order to escape to. The author/singer was living there in the 1910's and became an Argentine citizen. It made me laugh loud a long while.

They have the same opinion about any compound subject that includes the object/complement pronouns "me", "him", "her", and "them" instead of the subject pronouns "I", "he", "she", and "they".

I'm moving to the country -or a town 30,000 inhabitants tops- as soon as I can organize all aspects of my life. I'm sick of living in a city which population is those of Sweden and Norway combined.

I came across that Swedish movie when I was gathering information about Samborombón (the name of the place "la Carmencita" lived). Close to that location -in local terms- Harald Mortstedt, Abel Nordstrorn and Hilmer Dahigren founded "La Escandinavia Argentina" in 1890's, the first industrial butter factory. I suppose Taube's adventures here were related with all that settling movement in times of the grand immigration.

The videoclip was so funny, with that Hollywood approach of gauchos dancing a would-be tango while a mix of pasodoble with polka is heard, something similar to depicting cowboys wearing their typical garments and dancing a would-be fox-trot while jazz music is played by a Chinese traditional orchestra. Such we-give-a-darn conceptual nightmares I expect from USA, and -milder- from the British. I thought the Swedish as more "continental" and that video surprised me.

I'm not well enough versed in the hispanic culture to see just how bastardized that video is, but this video is much more in line with my current view of the hispanic every-day life: :D

Well, using the object/complement pronouns in compound subjects is fairly common in casual speech in many regions (including the town in which I grew up), along with double negatives, saying "I ain't" instead of "I am not", saying "don't" instead of "doesn't", and any number of other forms that teachers, editors, and language mavens often label as "non-standard" or "wrong". Understanding the common non-standard forms is as useful as knowing the standard forms, in my opinion, but one must also learn to judge when it is appropriate to use each type.

I have read your post :D again, because I had some doubts when I was reading the post and I could to read a part when you told me (Playing) on the computer, certainly not I don't accustom to play in the computer, in fact I don't like the video games and less in the computer, because it can tend be hard to use with the keyboard mostly in the games very complicates.

I concluded the same thing a long time ago; get my message across as best I can within the normal flow of the conversation, and don't bother trying to correct myself when I notice a grammatical mistake. Over time and with continued study I make fewer and fewer mistakes while speaking Spanish. Of course, I still make mistakes while speaking that betray me as a second-language speaker rather than a native speaker from somewhere else. I save the effort to get everything as correct as I can for when I write and I'm free to take all the time I need to edit myself.
Ooh! Ooh! Grammar Man! I'm going to steal that name!:D
