I agree with Anonimo. But this commend is for Animo. I could to understand your point and your form to think referred to your verb (Ver or Mirar). As you have said before the way to speak or to say the things is simply as an usages in each country or it depend of each person. I think that is correct to say Miro la television. But I believe more in this sentence or phrase the case the same. ( Veo la tele). As you can to watch the analogy change completely and the meaning is the same. Then you can figure the sentence of other way or other way to say the same. For example you see the TV. Your own interest or purposes are see the Television.

I mean. Veo la television and Miro la television are the same in itself build or meaning.

Other example as you have said clearly is understand your point. For example.

I watch the TV ( Obeservo la Television) This choice is less used but is valid as expression. Then you will say ( Which is the form correct to say it). My answer would be. You can say of anyway as long as the people understand the you are trying to say or give to know it.

I hope you understand me. Because I tried to explain or give me understand my own view point.
