I don't mean to add confusion to the mix, but as far as I know the German 'denken' (similar to Dutch in fact) nowadays carries 'an' (+akkusativ) with it. :)
Yes, it does today, but 300 years ago, it took the genitive, hence for example 'Vergissmeinnicht'. That is why I say 'I think of you every evening' = 'I remember you every evening' which used to be a genitive object. :)
