This expression is used when we see sb that we hadn´t seen for ages.

Si se trata sólo de que lleváis tiempo sin veros, podría ser "Long time no see". "A sight for sore eyes" connota anhelo realizado. (De igual manera, el bar al final del paseo también puede serla :D ).

Yo uso "A sight for sore eyes" cuando tras un día viendo sólo hombres aparece una bella moza :D:D
