¿Mate?

¿Mate?

siete ciruelas x 2 = catorce ciruelas

..................... x 6 = doce coliflores

Es algo como "multiplication table"?
Gracias y saludos,
Jan

I don't really understand your question. Mates = maths

Yes, "mates" ("mate" is another thing) is the common word form "matemáticas" among students. :)

For those who would like to know how we read those mathematical signs:

One more for the regional variations then. :)

Mathematics is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. Mathematicians seek out patterns, formulate new conjectures, and establish truth by rigorous deduction from appropriately chosen axioms and definitions.(WKPD)

Arithmetic or arithmetics (from the Greek word ἀριθμός = number) is the oldest and most elementary branch of mathematics, used by almost everyone, for tasks ranging from simple day-to-day counting to advanced science and business calculations.(WKPD)
My idea is that we're doing exercises of arithmetic and not mathematics.

What do you think about?

I think that because

Arithmetic .. is the oldest and most elementary branch of mathematics
and if we are doing exercises in arithmetic then by definition we are also doing exercises in mathematics. Simple mathematics, but still mathematics. :p :)

Ustedes están mal del mate...

(And now what?)

Anybody else has that use?
