vente

Hey guys!

I was wondering if you could help me with my convoluted spanish :D
I was trying to explain the word "vente" to my boyfriend and I did a search on the tomisimo dictionary..but it's not there :confused: I don't know if it's a mexican spanish thing? or what? It means come here...or something like that.
This is how i use it.

Estoy en una fiesta, vente para acá.

Ya es muy tarde, vente a la casa.

VENTE is the 2º singular person of the imperative form of the verb VENIRSE, which means the same than VENIR, although you can say it’s a more emphatic form.
So, as a pronominal verb, you need the pronouns me, te, se, nos, os, se for each person.
There are some spanish verbs that present both forms, pronominal and simple. For example: beberse, comerse, irse, marcharse, etc. Their meanings don’t change, and they are not reflexive verbs. It’s just the way they are. They are used all over hispanic countries, so it’s not only a mexican way of saying come along with us. They are very common.
VENTE = VEN
