Chased bracelet
What is a "chased" bracelet? In the sentence it is a lovely silver bracelet. Nothing to do with the hunting.

I've seen that as a term to talk about embossed or engraved metals. Nice work when it's jewelry. :)

Thanks, Angelica. The dictionary entry was about hunting. :)

To chase can mean to adorn metal with work embossed or engraved. It's a shortened form of to enchase, from French. :)

I had even thought that it could be an engagement bracelet  :D
Thanks. :) |

Edit: I just asked my other half whether she knew what a chased bracelet was. She replied it was probably some kind of chastity belt :lol::lol: or a token of purity. I then realised she had understood chaste bracelet. :whistling: |

'He's ever so funny, my dad. He gave her a lovely silver bracelet, one of those chased ones.' Aland couldn't imagine how one bracelet could be more chaste than another, but he didn't ask. :D |
