I searched our threads and I didn't find an appropriate Spanish equivalent for "left-hanging"....

Any ideas or suggestions?

It means something that hangs toward the left. I wonder if que cuelga(n) hacia/a la izquierda works here. Too rudimentary, maybe?

@Elaina: Is it related to the expression "to be left hanging", like when something hasn't been solved? ¿"Quedar pendiente"? :thinking:

"Left/right-hanging" can also be used in specifying the side from which something hangs. As an example, gates and doors can be differentiated as either "left-hanging" or "right-hanging", depending on which side the hinges are relative to you as you push them open.

If we are discussing the idiom "to be left hanging", the hyphen in "left-hanging" should be omitted.

So I need help translating the following sentence...

Le ayudaremos todo lo que este en nuestras manos, y le prometemos que le dejaremos plantado.

otra:
We will help you as much as we can and we promise you will not be left hanging.
Le ayudaremos en todo lo que podamos y le prometemos que no se quedará colgado.
formal:
Se le ayudará según nuestras posibilidades y le prometemos que no se quedará sin ayuda.

Edward: ¿De verdad? ¿No estás hablando en sentido figurativo? No es demasiado tarde para que cambies de idea.

En ocasiones también se puede decir "dejar en la estacada", una expresión interesante. :)
