How to use the word "Válgase" correctly

What does válgase mean and how to use "Válgase" correctly?

"Válgase", from the verb "valer". I've seen it in expressions with the meaning of asking for permission for saying/writng something which could sound incorrect. For instance:

Subí la subida, válgase la redundancia (if you'll excuse the repetition).
La iglesia de mi pueblo, como una catedral (válgase la comparación), se alza majestuosa. (if you allow that comparison).

I can't think more examples now. :thinking:

I agree with Irma. "Válgase" is a way of expressing something like "be what I'm saying allowed".

Btw... there is also "¡Válgame!" or "¡Válgame dios!", which have a similar meaning to "god help me". They're used to express surprise when something bad happens.

Válgase = haga uso/use.
Válgase de aquel PC para controlar su correo electrónico.
Válgase la pena la lectura de las instrucciones.
Válgase anotar que no siempre se va a ver así.
