The verb to bow

Is the best word inclinarse? doblarse?

Perikles March 23, 2011 02:57 PM

hacer una reverencia ?

I'm with Perikles: "Hacer una reverencia" is the one I'd chose at first.

"Inclinarse" may be fine as well.

- El mayordomo hizo una reverencia y salió del comedor.
- Nos inclinamos ante el rey cuando lo vimos pasar.

¿qué tál reverenciar?

The trouble is it can have a wider meaning when with an object:
to bow your head in shame
to bow to the inevitable

no respect involved here
