Rice stomach

Rice stomach

rice stomach:a form of beriberi, a disease of malnutrition, common in the Orient and in areas of the Western Hemisphere where nutrition is poor. The disease, which affects the nervous system, causes damage to many organs as well as pain and swelling. Extreme cases may result in paralysis and death. It is frequently caused by a diet consisting too exclusively of white rice.

Is this "est
รณmago de arroz" in Spanish?

Or is there any other colloquial way to refer to it?

Beriberi.

After and internet search, I'm not convinced that "rice stomach" is a very common term for this—I had not heard it before. I agree with aleCcowaN and would go with beriberi.

Thank you!
(I tend to agree!)
