These words are not so similar, but I suggest using a Spanish dictionary to compare the definitions of the words you found in your English-Spanish dictionary and see which one suits your intentions. It's a long process, but you will be learning the words instead of memorizing.

a. buscar y encontrar -> Same there is between to look for and to find.
b. qué tal v. cómo (both how) -> "Qué tal" is a greeting by itself, asking how you are. "Cómo" asks "how".
c. mandar v. enviar v. repartir -> "Mandar" and "enviar" are the same as to send, like when someone sends a package by mail. "Repartir" means to deliver, like a mailman delivering letters or a messenger delivering pizzas. It can also mean to hand out, like when someone delivers flyers out in the street...
e. comida v. alimento (aren't they both just food) -> "Comida" is food from the point of view of something you eat. "Alimento" is food from the point of view of something that nourishes you.

f. enviar/mandar/remitir (aren't they all like send) -> "remitir" is to send by mail.
