(Alex) se le olvido

The problem I have is conjugating and putting stuff in a sentence beyond basic stuff. The title is something someone told me at work about something someone forgot to put on a cabinet at work. "le" refers to he for Alex. Olvido (fogive me if my spelling is wrong) is the past tense for "olvidar" for Alex in this case. Why and what is the reason for the word "se". I know I should know this by now, but it seems at work that sometimes it is used and other times it is not. I want to get it right!

HELP!!!!

Your written sentence must have been "A Alex se le olvidรณ poner..."
I think this thread will help you with the structure of "olvidar"/"olvidarse". :)

There are verbs that need a pronominal construction to indicate the action that happens to a certain subject.

Maybe this thread will give you an idea on this kind of verbs. :)
