Zambiloco

I know it means half crazy, but it's not in dictionaries I have looked at.
Is the term specific to Colombia?

I'm Colombian and I have never heard that word. It may be a new word, I haven't lived in Colombia for several years.. :)

Perhaps it's with a "zambiloco", from "zambo" (bowlegged).
I've never heard it, but I'll speculate with an expression that sounds rather graphic to me for someone going crazy: walking around disorderly and shaking their head. :D

This is a paraphrase of what was said:

Salí del dentista sambiloco (o zambiloco) por tanta anestesia que me dio.
No pude encontrar la salida de la clínica.

Well, he obviously can't walk straight and his head is turning around. :dancingman:

I found this definition http://usuarios.multimania.es/americalatina/z.htm

Never heard of it before myself.

Thank you languagelover for the definitive answer, and thanks everyone
else also.

Mmm.. my antivirus said that page is dangerous.. :(

"Address: <snip>

I decided not to open it.. :o

Just google it. The answer is there without having to click on it. I googled sambiloco before posing the question to Tomísismo. I never occurred to me to check zambiloco as Angélica suggested.

Here is what it says on that page:
zambiloco-a: (Col). Alocado, inquieto.

Specifically, many of the instances seem to come from the city that "... tiene tren, pero no tiene tranvía" and its region.

poli August 11, 2011 08:28 AM

Una ciudad que tiene tren pero no tiene tranvía:thinking:Bs As, NYC, DF :erm:
¿Cuál ciudad?

atontado:
silly, foolish
aturdido:
bewildered, amazed
