Hallar vs encontrar & permanecer vs quedar

What is the difference between these two sets of verbs? 1. hallar y encontrar and 2: permanecer y quedar

'Hallar' and 'encontrar' may have the same meaning ('to find' or 'to come across'). In a standard conversation you will use 'encontrar'. 'Hallar' is much more formal, and you will probably find it only in books.

You can also use 'encontrar' sometimes as ' to meet'.

'Permanecer' is more formal than 'quedar', with the meaning of 'stay'.

You can also use 'quedar' as 'to meet', mainly in spoken Spanish.

We are going to meet at X square / Vamos a quedar en la plaza X.

I edit to add that 'quedar' (as 'stay') is a reflexive verb.

Me voy a quedar en casa / I'm going to stay at home.

No me hallo en esta casa = I don't feel comfortable in this house.
