How would I say the following in Spanish?
 

"She was thinking about what she would (i.e., was going to) do." Here, there is a good chance that she will do what she is thinking about.

"She was thinking about what she might do." Here, there is uncertainty as to whether she will really do what she is thinking about.

Are both phrases translated the same way in Spanish?

BTW, so far I have: "Estuvo pensando en lo que..."

I suggest that you don't be so quick to make judgements. I did not use a single online translator, nor will I accept any translation from one. What I came up with so far comes purely from my own knowledge of Spanish, which I would've liked to expand without having to reply to posts containing groundless accusations, such as yours. I apologize if I am coming off as blunt, but I do not like to have false judgements made of me.

With that being said, someone willing to help: I don't even need the translation; I just need to know what tense to employ in each sentence. I have a feeling that the first sentence uses the imperfect (i.e., estuvo pensando en lo que iba a hacer), but I could be wrong. For the second, I have no clue...the imperfect subjunctive, perhaps?

The problem here is when was all that thinking happened.

First verb, as Chileno is pointing out, could be in past (as you wrote it) or imperfect.
Subjunctive does not match the situation for the second verb. Perhaps conditional for some cases.

Remember, the progressive past uses imperfect indicative rather than preterite

Both imperfect and preterite progressive constructions exist. Which is used depends on when the action occurred/was occurring.
