No dejar de ser llamativo
Hola,
I have to translate the following sentence into English but it is causing me great difficulty: "ésta es la realidad palpable para los futuros Almodóvar, lo cual no deja de ser llamativo con un Gobierno que tiene entre sus deberes cumplidos- tras cinco años en el poder- la polémica Ley del Cine" The title which comes before this section is "una ley "coja"" So i have: "this law is the palpable reality for future Almodovars, which "no deja de ser llamativo" with a governement which has amongst it's completed duties- after five years in power- the conversial Film law" Can someone help me to make better sense of this?? Muchas gracias! |
...it is always attractive...

no deja de ser llamativo X ---> X is an element that we wouldn't expect in that specific situation, or at least it surprises us a bit to find X.
"Ésta" in the original text is not that "this law" you use in your translation but "this situation (having such a few specific content in the available syllabuses)". |
