Celosía/persiana

The term I'm familar with is persiana, but I am aware of the word celosía for blinds also. Is there a difference. Is celosía a commonly used term?

Interesting... I only knew "celosía" as a wall made of perforated bricks.

In central Mexico I have always only heard "persiana" for window blinds. :)

The dictionary gives 'lattice/latticework' as the translation of celosía. A lattice can be made out of wood, plastic or aluminum/metal, laid in criss-cross fashion, or out of bricks, where holes are intentionally inserted.

In my country it's the same that Angelica said.
