Climate and Weather

In English we generally use climate for the average weather over a long period (usually 30 or more years). Since I see <<clima>> used for weather, what is the Spanish word for climate?

'Clima' is the word used for 'climate'.
'Tiempo' is used to discuss the weather.

On Univision the weather report is labelled El Clima on the website, and El Tiempo on the video opening. During the speech, Ms. Castro says "El Clima" as part of her delivery (1:04). It sure sounds like the two words are interchangeable.

They are not interchangeable, just as they are not interchangeable in English. That said, you might find places or people who use them interchangeably. Learn the correct way to use the words, and when in Rome ...
