Is that sentence ok?

I suppose yes, but I would be inclined to say something like:

The plot of this film is very well thought out.
The plot of this film has been constructed very carefully.

How about "...well plotted"?

Of course the phrase would be "the story of the movies was well plotted"

'Very well crafted' sounds just fine to me. 'Very well thought out' would be more commonly said, though.
