Free indirect speech
Can anybody tell me the Spanish word for free indirect speech? It's a way of narrating events used by modernists, in which the third person is used but the narrator effaces himself to allow a character to speak.
Thanks.:) |
Try 'estilo/discurso indirecto libre'.
This article switches the last two words. There are plenty of other sites that use it the way I did above. http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estilo_libre_indirecto |
Thanks, Rusty. I see it's quite a literal translation.

Yes, sometimes literal translations are the best ones. and sometimes my problem is I´m so conditioned against using a literal translation, that I see it as my last option.
