Trumpy

Trumpy

Today I heard someone calling "trumpy" some fashion design -it was clearly an "a" sound like in cup, and not an "a" sound like in bank-. I couldn't find any authoritative source about its meaning. Somewhere in the web somebody was saying it's the combination of "trashy" and "frumpy", but it wasn't that bad, maybe too much 'déjà vu vantage' and pretty plain.

Any ideas about its meaning? (I wouldn't dare to translate it!)

Yes, it's a combination of 'trashy' and 'frumpy' - a person who is drab (unstylish) and unkempt. A person so described would be very unattractive.

Thank you, Rusty. Yes, the dress made the model to look plain.
