A su vera

¿Significa a su alcance?

GDO again:

vera femenino (anticuado) (de un río) bank; a la vera del camino by the roadside; estuvo a su vera he was by her side

:)

"Al alcance de alguien" might be suitable in some contexts, but "al alcance" to me, would imply the idea that something/someone can be grabbed, while being near someone is just to be close to someone, accompanying/supporting them, being accompanied/supported by them...

By the way, it's not an expression used in Mexico. I learnt it in Spanish songs and texts. :D

I agree..., if someone is "by your side", he is more "reachable" than someone who is far away, so in some very specific context "a su alcance" might fit, but not generally.
(What is your context?)
