Puzzled by - varonía
I am puzzled by VARONIA in the following sentence:
Sigue su descendencia en el capítulo Franco de Paredes, de su varonía. Google translates the sentence as: Follow their offspring in Chapter Franco Paredes, his varonía. |
varonía = male descendants
Don't trust the machine translation. Perhaps a better translation would be: His descendants in the area/chapter Franco de Paredes follow, (only) his male descendants. |
varonía = male issue
(it follows descendants having his Y chromosome, not just descendants that happen to be male) |
Thanks everyone for helping me on this question. I have completed 15 pages of genealogy with another 30 ahead of me.
Again, GRACIAS Steve |
