Obra Social de las Cajas de Ahorros

How would you translate: La Obra Social de las Cajas de Ahorros.

Savings banks charity activities.

Savings banks Social Corporate Responsibility.

Any proposal?

the bank's corporate sponsorship

Thank you Poli,

do you think that sponsorship is wide enough to cover what "obra social" means at least in Spain?

I have the feeling that "sponsorship" seeks for a return while obra social is, at least in it´s origin, a more altruistic and wider concept.

What do you think?

Note: please feel free to correct my grammar and sentences, nothing can help me more. There is nothing I value more.:)

I would say: the Charitable Activities of Savings Banks
-or- Savings Banks' Charitable Activities

I have the feeling that "sponsorship" elicits an underwriting of sorts while "obra social" is, at least in its origins, a more altruistic and wider concept.

Banks and other big companies often sponsor arts programs like dance companies, and also charitable organizations like race for the cure sponsored by Citibank (hypothetical).
I am sure that corporate sponsorship is the best term for when big
companies give back a little bit to the community in the form of charity or
cultural events. The prestigious Encores program at City Center in my home town is sponsored by Newman's Own for example.
