Ánimos in the plural

Dónde recibimos ánimos para ......?

Where do we get encouragement to ....?

right?

why the plural - isn't encouragement 'animo' singular

Just an off the wall guess - is it because it's going with 'nosotros'?

If it said ¿dónde recibe ánimo...? would it be singular?

What's going on? lol

In this context,

ánimo/ánimos = cheer(noun)/cheers [the encouraging kind]

so, a plural is expected.

Ánimo makes me think of "mood" and "personality" instantly (de buen ánimo, de pésimo ánimo, animado, desanimado, animoso, apocado)
