y "balls and strikes" sonada como "balls and strikes"

Please never neglect opening question and exclamation marks. They're not gratuitous. (You can use the dropdown "Accents" menu on top of dialog boxes here in the forums to insert them and other Spanish characters.) :)

I don't know much baseball, but here are some comments on what you seem to have heard and the way it's said in Mexico:

Un "homerun" sonaba como "quadrulangulo" cuadrangular (in Mexico)
Un "inning" sonada como "episodio" Could have also been "entrada".
y "balls and strikes" sonada como "balls and strikes" -Bola ("ball" in Mexico), "strike" (we keep the same word)

(After three strikes the batter is "ponchado", but I don't know what a "hit" is in either language. :D)

Do you mean that sobre is not the right preposition to use in this instance or do you mean I need to augment sobre with an additional preposition?

Gracias,
Ricardo.

She meant that you used the wrong preposition.
