Ok, Vale

Ok, Vale

Can anyone help me on this, when I am in Spain I hear the word vale (or bale I am not sure how to spell it) a lot and and also use it in conversation to mean ok, however since starting to learn spanish properly I only find 'ok' in the dictionary and no sign of vale. Can anyone explain why this is?

Vale
is specific to Spain. OK is typical of Puerto Rico. In truth de acuerdo or bueno, which is commonly used in Argentina, are the most international terms. In Mexico you may hear vale or sale vale, but not as habitually as it is used in Spain.

Thank you that explains it! :)

Here you have the definition (SM Dictionary)
3http://portada.smdiccionarios.com/img/copito.pngcol.

And yes, as Poli says, this is very common in Spain... as you yourself have experienced.

¿Vale? [¿De acuerdo?]

Pues muy bien.
