Calcinado

I hear the word used in a way that may mean burnt out as in a building destroyed by fire. Did I hear this correctly

Yes, "calcinado" means "totally burnt" or "without leaving anything standing" always referred to a fire. "Arrasado" can mean the latter one but it's more general.

A pleasure.

I agree with Julvenzor, "calcinado" is reduced to ashes.

Yup!

DRAE gives,
calcinar 2. tr. Abrasar por completo, especialmente por el fuego.

Greetings!
