Sus cuerpos aparecen en las playas libias, sin identificaciones, ni ligas sobre quiénes eran y qué las llevó a embarcarse en un viaje peligroso.
My Spanish-English dictionary says it translates to "leagues," but that definition doesn't fit in the context.

I agree with Poli. "Liga" in this case, might be close to "link"; there's nothing to connect these people to anyone and find out anything about them.
