Cuál / Cuáles
 

I've scoured books and the internet to study Cuál and Cuáles, but without any clear answer.
As far as I can see they both mean "Which" (please correct me if I'm wrong). Is Cuál singular and Cuáles plural?

Yes. "Cuál" and "Cuáles" have a similar meaning to "which": they are used in explanatory sentences. In addtion, they are important to differentiate between "¿Qué es? " and "¿Cuál es?"
