Caja de ahorros
Could that be a credit union?
|
Not, it looks like to Fondo de Ahorro, if you have some kind of job currently, then you can have some kind of Caja de Ahorro in your job, I have one, or you can have a Fondo de ahorro in a bank.
it's not for me a credit union, or credit card, it would be different. |
401K or IRA?
|
The term caja de ahorros is used mainly in Spain, and refers to a certain type of credit institution, similar to a bank, credit union or savings and loan association. A caja de ahorros is often a non-profit organization. In other places, such as Mexico, caja de ahorros has no special meaning like this.

Agree with David.
in Spain, "cajas de ahorros" are a type of bank. The "cajas de ahorros" are like a little federal-state bank/credit union/savings and loan association. They only work in their main state, and the goverment has influence. It's not so money-oriented like an usual bank, they have to spend some of the earnings in social projects. saludos:D |

Hi everybody!
In Argentina, Caja de Ahorro is a type of account that you own in a bank, you can put and withdraw money, but you are not given a check book and it gives you low interest for your money deposit |
