Stopper
... as in drain stopper. I have used tapón, but is tarugo the better?

I don't know in other places, but it's definitely "tapón" in Mexico.
"Tarugo" is a mild insult meaning "fool". :) |
I think tarugo is more a rawl plug than a sink plug.

I had to look that up, because on the North American side of the Atlantic a rawl plug is called a molly.

That's right, Poli. "Tarugo", the candy, is a ball made of tamarind (a very sour fruit) and sugar; sometimes with lots of chili too.
A wall plug in Mexico is called "taquete". :) |
