I just can't add up this grammar. Al patrón, maybe :thinking:

It is correct as written; el patrón is the subject.

I'm not grokking it just the same :)

Spanish is a flexible language. You can change the place of the subject in the sentence without altering the meaning.

- El patrón ya se llevó mi alma. = Mi alma el patrón ya se (la) llevó. = Mi alma ya se (la) llevó el patrón.

"Que" is linking the verse with the previous idea.
