Motor / Motriz
Hi Everyone!
My first question of the year........ The word "motor" can be translated to motor or motríz - When using the word "motor" as in motor skills....I've always used motriz. Is it better to use one instead of the other or doesn't it matter? Another interpreter told me that they were interchangeable but for some reason I don't trust (?) him. Thanks for your help!:thinking: |
Elaina, matriz means womb or uterus. I think motiz
is better than motor for motor skills like capacidad motiz. |
Both are correct, according to Internet usage, but habilidad motriz is much more popular than habilidad motor.
The plural form - habilidades motrices - appears more often than the singular. |
I think the font makes it look like matríz instead of motríz but are you saying motríz or motíz? Maybe just a typo?
Thanks for your help! |
Oops! a typo:o. Motriz not motiz is correct and more conventional than motor
|
Just going by my gut feelings, I'd say motriz (motrices) is better. I've actually heard both habilidades motrices and habilidades motoras.

Gracias a todos! Creo que me quedo con lo que siempre uso.... motríz
 |
They are mostly interchangeable in meaning, but we are used to use of them.
a usually one of both is more used inter. For habilidades, you can use both. In larger text, better use both to avoid repeat the word all the time. Saludos :D |
