What's the correct translation for "delete"
There is always a menu item name "delete" in the 'Edit' menu of the softwares. I tried to translate the "delete" into Spanish, I got 3 answers as below, which one is correct? Thanks for help!
1. cancelación 2. borre 3. suprimir |
I've done software translations in Toronto and the standard is borrar, suprimir or anular. Always in infinitive, the imperative sounds impolite in an impersonal context such as computing.:twocents:

I will take the borrar, thank you for help!

Yes, as Planet said before, inside of the software there are much kinds of words with different meanings then, you commonly found the word erase or delete, we are both meaning alt most the same from a system operative or any software but you can interpret the word as Borrar, eliminar, less cancelar, because for the word cancelar is translated as Cancel.

Borrar, suprimir, and eliminar are the three best options in my opinion. (in that order).

Eliminar/Suprimir/Borrar (in that order :D)
Cancelar is "Cancel" Anular is also "cancel/delete", but more for an order, like "cancel meeting"/"Anular cita" |
