verso / versero

In local slang "verso" can be matched to "snow job", though technically "hacer el verso" is the best match for it. Tony Lip, the character in the film The Green Book is a master doing that, hence the nickname Lip. In the character's own words the nickname is plenty justified because "I have the abilility to make people do things".

But we'd simply say that Tony Lip "es un versero", an insincere talker who manipulates people into doing what he wants . How can I express that in American English slang?

The closest thing I can think of is con man. Depending on the circumstances, you can use the term crooked politician as well, or T.V. preacher. Used car salesman can be used metaphorically too. Flimflam man also.
