go to h***

I'm not trying to be rude, but I have heard different terminology for the phrase "go to hell"--some using diablo, others, not. I am primarily interested from a theological point of view, not to use as a swearing. perhaps an comparison can be made.
gracias.

I think go to hell would be vete al infierno.

I hope that helps.

Haole, what kind of theological commentary would you like on these expressions?. Oh, and Chad, It's most commonly put as vete al diablo.

Thanks atnbueno, I was not aware of that. I believe vete al diablo is more common in Mexico, although now I'm not sure. :)

I also heard the phrase Vaya al diablo, what's this verb form?

Re: go to h***

Vaya is the Usted command form of the verb ir. It's also the subjunctive of ir for yo, él, ella, usted. An example of subjunctive usage would be "Quiero que vaya y que nunca regrese".
