My text book says:

"Good breeding implied a shared education and shared expectations..."

How could I translate these "shared"? I don't think that "compartido" is a good option here.

La buena educación implicaba una educación y unas expectativas compartidas  (it doesn't have much sense for me)

Do you mean: una educación común y unas expectativas comunes? Podría ser, tiene más sentido. Gracias, Angelica :)

I could speculate about the meaning of the sentence, but before I do, do you have any more context for it? Is this part of a paragraph? That would help me know what this is talking about and who is saying it.

I don't have the text here. This afternoon or evening I'll copy. Thanks. :)

The text is talking about the eigthteenth-century music and the classical proportions. The complete sentence is:

'Good breeding', in music as much in the other arts, implied a shared education and shared expectations rather than an insistence on the personality of the eccentricities of the artist

Sorry for taking so long to reply to this thread.

You could use "muy parecidas", "en común", "iguales" etc.

I think that the word Share is more than a context in the books already you can use the word in severals means.

For instance.

I share my happyfullness with you.

I share my house with them

I share my truck with my wife.

I'm not pretty sure but I believe that the word share is more than a mean really it's a simple word.

saludos :D

I'm going to study Jane Austen in this subject ;) (¿le doy recuerdos, Sosia? :) )
