I saw this word when I was in mexico and I wrote it down, but now I can't find it in any dictionary and it's driving me crazy.

Can anyone help me with it?

It's mexican. I can't help.
They say it's "estructura metalica o de plastico para un "puesto callejero" ó "zona con puestos callejeros" ó "mercadillo ambulante" but i'm not sure.

You probably didn't find it in the dictionary because it's spelled tianguis. As far as the meaning, sosia's right. It's basically an outdoor market or the area where an outdoor market is held (once a week etc.).
