Please, don't be angry with me because the things I'm going to tell you, but this is a complete disaster (I'm not sure about this word). I'd say "no tiene ni pies ni cabeza" in Spanish. I have invented half of the sentences I've written. I think that you could use a methodology, starting with short sentences, learning some words. Step by step you'll go far, because I'm sure you're not learning anything for my corrections. Small corrections are more effective than bigger ones (or that's what I think).

Try again with short and simple sentences. That will be easier and you'll learn sooner.

And forgive me if I've been rude, I didn't mean it :)

ChicadeJeep November 04, 2009 01:57 PM

Eeeeek!!

Oh no, I thought I did so good! My final written is tomorrow!
Looks like I will be working on this stuff all night again.

Thank you irmamar - you have not been rude at all, very helpful.
I cannot learn unless I am told what I've done wrong, right?!

CrOtALiTo November 04, 2009 04:11 PM

I can suggesting you that you write in notepaper your words less common used for you, and later you try to do exercises with your notes, and well later you try memorize them with your post and between other things.

I saw your text and well just I took me a little to time for understand the text, and well just I found some mistakes but the mistakes are very diminutive but there are mistakes in the Spanish, so as I know that in this post mine there are mistakes now.

I recommend you also provide the English translations so we won't have to guess what you're trying to say. I suppose the underlying English for the phrase above was: so we'll have a good time (but I've no idea what to do with the word hace)

This is said: así que nos divertiremos mucho
or: así que lo pasaremos bien

The phrase 'to have a good time' is an idiomatic expression. The translations I gave are idiomatic equivalents.
divertirse mucho = to have a good time
pasarlo bien = to have a good time

así que = so, when used as a coordinating conjunction
You can't use the adverb tan in place of a coordination conjunction.

Thanks Rusty, I will put the English equivalent of what I am trying to say in the future. Yes, I was translating literally "so we would have a good time".

Oh goodness, I don't think I will do very well tomorrow. It's my last chance or I'm out! Eeek!

irmamar November 05, 2009 01:14 AM

Good luck, Jeep :)

ChicadeJeep November 05, 2009 05:37 AM

Thanks irmamar!

hi chicadejeep - what is most obvious, and perhaps most important,
in a way, is the effort you're making.

wishing you the best of results on your make-up exam. are there any
more basic courses available to you?

Thank you hermit.
My exam was moved to this morning as my Jeep decided not to start - my husband spent 5 hours fixing it.
I'm off fairly soon.
Thanks very much!
Unfortunately, this is the most basic course I am taking!! The beginner's course. :(

ChicadeJeep November 06, 2009 03:28 PM

Pienso mi examen fue bien.

I think my exam went well.

CrOtALiTo November 06, 2009 04:38 PM

Congratulations.

I hope you have gotten at least a 100 per cent.

irmamar November 07, 2009 03:57 AM

Felicidades, Jeep :applause: :)

hermit November 07, 2009 07:03 AM

¡qué bueno CJeep - felicidades por todo!

ChicadeJeep November 09, 2009 06:35 AM

Debo averiguar esta semana.

irmamar November 09, 2009 08:42 AM

A ver si hay suerte ;) :crossfingers:

CrOtALiTo November 09, 2009 11:19 AM

Chicajeep.

I will be waiting the result of the test in this post.

ChicadeJeep November 16, 2009 07:36 AM

Well ... I passed, but barely. I just received my unofficial mark and it was 51%.
Most of my marks are in the 80s and 90s. A minimum of 50% is required on the final to pass the course.

Bien ... Pasé, pero apenas. Acabo de recibir mi marca no oficial y (fue o era del?) 51%. La mayoría de mis marcas en los 80s y 90s. Un mínimo de 50% es requerido en la final para aprobar la asignatura.

Gracias por toda tu ayuda!
