Have-nots

What the meaning of have-nots?

Rusty November 27, 2009 05:57 AM

Individuals can be classified into two groups: the haves and the have-nots

Generally, if you are wealthy, you are classified in the have category.
If you have very little, or are not wealthy, you fit in the have-not category.

Those that have money are the Haves
Those that have no money are the Have-nots.

This is only meaningful when you contrast the two in expressions like:

The country is divided into two types of person: the Haves and the Have-nots.

Edit: Rusty beat me to it, but at least we agree. :)

And many Have-nots tend to be wannabe-Haves. :D
